From ShopApp to Movmo: What Inspired Our Checkout Flow

We didn’t invent one-click checkout.

But we did fall in love with it.

If you've ever ordered something through ShopApp by Shopify, you know what we're talking about—it’s clean, fast, and kind of magical. It’s like the site already knows you, and all you have to do is tap once and boom—done.

So we asked ourselves:

Why can’t booking flights feel like that?

The Aha! Moment

My wife had just ordered something totally random, don't recall exactly what it was, through ShopApp and I was blown away by how smooth the experience was.

At first, I was hesitant and immediately said, "Wait! What did you just click? What's this app?" Then took the backseat and watched her check out. No retyping shipping info. No digging up cards. No pop-ups. Just... fluid.

And it hit us: this is exactly what’s missing from airfare.

But Flight Booking Isn’t E-Commerce… Or Is It?

Sure, flights are more complex—bags, seats, loyalty numbers, etc.

But at the core, it’s a transaction. And travelers, like shoppers, want speed, control, and clarity.

So we studied what ShopApp nailed:

• Auto-recognition of users

• Minimal clicks

• Real-time confirmation

• Trust built through design and flow

Then we took our product research of what a Shopify-style checkout could look like for air travel.

What We Built (Inspired by That)

• Movmo Wallet: A secure, universal traveler profile that autofills across airlines.

• One-click checkout: Just like ShopApp or Amazon, but for flights.

• No surprise detours: You see what you’re booking, what's included, and how to pay—all without switching screens 5 times.

We even kept the design language clean and calming. No frantic buttons. No guilt-tripping countdowns. Just clarity and speed.

Product Love as Product Direction

We’re not afraid to admit we borrowed inspiration from a brilliant product. Because the future of booking isn’t about reinventing the wheel—it’s about putting the right wheels under the travel experience.

So yeah, shoutout to ShopApp for showing us what frictionless can feel like.

We just took that spark and built it for takeoff.
